A bit about us....
We first saw The Molesworth Arms all boarded up & and looking very sorry for itself in the summer of 2015 so we decided to make a lifestyle change, move to Devon and save the village pub.
Our simple aim and ethos was to run a friendly village pub that consistently serves good food and to give every patron a warm welcome and an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
The Molesworth Arms re-opened for business in December 2015.
We build close ties with our suppliers and work with them to showcase the wealth of high quality produce in our area and to help generate business within the local economy. Our meat is bought directly from a local farm and our fish from local suppliers. In 2017 we will be growing more of our own vegetables, fruit and herbs.
All our dishes are prepared in our kitchen and designed by our Head Chef, Martin, who has over 20 year’s experience in restaurant and country pub cooking. He has a passion for (un-complicated) country style food and a renown for selecting only the finest ingredients and sympathetically bringing out the natural tastes and combinations of flavours with innovative and memorable dishes. In 2016 we purchased a smoker & have this on site and smoke some interesting produce, look out for these dishes on our traditional menu and specials! Summer 2017 we have started growing our own vegetables, herbs & fruit in our very own polly tunnel.
During the summer we open up our outdoor kitchen with a wood fired pizza oven serving delicious handmade pizzas and also interesting BBQ dishes such as marinated butterflied leg of lamb.
Our bar has a great variety of drinks for everyone; a fine selection of wines from across the world, local organic ales, interesting non-alcoholic drinks and fresh locally roasted coffee.
We can accommodate private functions and parties and hold regular meetings for our local interest groups and businesses. We have recently completed two luxury letting rooms with en-suite bath/shower rooms.
We are a husband and wife team employing local full-time and part-time staff and all enjoy working together. We have a special local here Tiggy the ginger cat who visits regularly and enjoys everyones company and wants to stay after closing!
