Dining Reservations
We highly recommend booking ahead, we only have limited covers. We are a small rural restaurant, with no passing trade, which relies on bookings being honoured & guests giving reasonable notice of any changes to reservations.
We kindly request that diners give a minimum of 24 hours notification of cancellation or of a reduction in guest numbers.
Please note we don't allow dogs on the premises.
Children must be very well behaved & attended by an adult at all times.
A new outlook for the Molesworth Arms Pyworthy
after the pandemic
For two years during the pandemic we survived as a business during those extraordinary times but we had to to deal with increased costs, supply shortages, staff issues & transportation disruptions.
We discovered during these times in order to run our business effectively and to remain open we had to create a revised, more efficient & economic style of the day to day running of our establishment.
We made changes by :-
-Downsized our covers to make our business more sustainable.
-Made our space more safer & comfortable
-Revised a new menu which changes with the seasons
-Growing lots more herbs, fruit & vegetables in our organic polytunnel
-And re opened our bed & breakfast letting rooms & created a new self contained one bed unit
We believe these changes have helped us to remain open, had we not changed
another rural business would have closed down.
Our goal is to remain open over the winter months but we need to be sustainable & sensible on the running costs at the Molesworth Arms. We have all been affected with rising energy costs & to heat our pub we use a lot of oil, electricity & firewood. Some parts of the pub are over 170 years old & our flooring is covered in very old (cold) flag stones so to heat up our pub it takes at least 4 hours. We will try & remain open throughout the winter months from Thursdays till Sundays as long as we know we have bookings. Please call or email or check updates on this page.
Thank you for your understanding.
